You may already know this story, but we will tell it again (just for fun).

We have been together for just over four years now and living together for almost four years now.  On our one-year anniversary, we bought a van named Sheila (she came with the name).  We spent our weekends making her a little home on wheels and hit the road for a four-month adventure around the US. Going into this road trip, a lot of friends joked that if we could survive living in a space of less than 60-square feet, we would be able to deal with anything together.

And they were not wrong.  Four months later, about 20,000 miles driven, countless rest stop and gas station bathrooms, 29 states and a couple dozen arguments, we arrived back to the Bay Area stronger as a couple and yearning for more adventure.

It’s been about three years since that amazing road trip and we are finally gearing up for another.  We have given Sheila a full interior makeover and have been minimizing our possessions to head out into the unknown.  We will be arriving at our wedding with the van packed, ready to go and heading out after the weekend.

We are so excited that you are celebrating the start of our chapter with us! We are thrilled that you would like to give us a gift to help us get our newlywed life off to a great start.  Our apartment will be packed up before the wedding and we understand that you would like to get us something, but in lieu of traditional gifts, we would really appreciate the gift of more time on the road in the form of a donation to our adventure fund.  This money will go towards making the adventure last as long as possible, whether it be filling a tank of gas or getting a night at a paid campsite.

Thank you so much!

Love,

Emma & John (& Sheila, our van)
